Khons, Goddess of the Moon

Ashta Chandrasana - 8 (astha) Points High Crescent Lunge.
Inspired by Khons the Traveller, the Egyptian Goddess of the Moon, crossing the night sky and looking after the night wanderers. She is also at the origin of the creation of the world and all living creatures.
Some characters performing asanas have been found in Ancient Egypt carved on walls in pharaoh’s tombs or painted. It is called Kemetic yoga referring to a time when Egypt was not named Egypt yet. The Egyptian book of the Dead is also said to have links with Vedic ritual and a lot of similarities in worship and symbols can be found between Egypt and India (cobra, hawk, crowns, duality, life-force, nadis, chakras, …).
